Bride and Groom

In Kurdish traditional wedding, the families of both bride and groom get together. In the country side, the groom and his relatives first go to the bride's village as a final formal invitation for the wedding ceremony. The bride is carried on a nicely decorated horse and the groom holds the horse gently and leads the guests to his village.

Both sides hold a day long party with Kurdish music and dance, and get-together approach with meal offerings for whomever join the ceremony. For two more days visitors come, most of the times with gifts, for the newly married couple and express their feelings toward them.

After the party finishes, bride's relatives will go back to their village. More ties and relationships will be established between the people of the two villages.
