These are photographs of the Roman ancient city of Jeresh in Jordan. Romans marched through occupation to spread their empire to middle east in the first century.
They ruled the areas from north Syria to Jordan for more than eight century till the Islam came and battled with them until they destroyed their civilization.
The main factor of Roman's weakness was their expansion and preoccupation with their internal dispute in Rome.
Most of the remaining sites in Jeresh were intact till the 1906 earthquake which destroyed most of the structures.
I visited Jordan in 1994 and went to Jeresh's Roman ancient site where I took these pictures and wanted to present them to my site's vistores.
All the photos are taken by Kurdo in May 1994, Jordan
